Valencia Selects Construction Firm for Poinciana Campus

Valencia College officials have selected a construction management firm to oversee the construction of a new $22 million campus in Poinciana.

On Oct. 21, 2015, the college’s board of trustees awarded the construction contract to Clancy & Theys.

Valencia officials are currently working with the project’s architect, DLR Group, to come up with a design for a 65,000-square foot building. The three-story building will be the first building on the campus and will house classrooms, computer labs, science labs, student services, food service areas, plus learning areas, multi-purpose rooms and administrative offices.

The campus, which will be built near the intersection of Pleasant Hill and Reaves roads, is expected to serve about 2,500 degree-seeking students, as well as up to 1,000 students seeking job-training.

Valencia officials are planning to open the campus for classes in fall 2017.
