Valencia VP Appointed to Florida Chamber Foundation's Six Pillars Caucus

Orlando, Fla. – The Florida Chamber Foundation named Keith W. Houck, Valencia Community College’s vice president for administrative services, to its expanded research and policy development caucus system, designed to garner the input of local and regional subject matter experts.

“Florida is moving toward its next economy, and the Foundation’s new caucus system will prove to be an invaluable framework to help get us there,” said Jeff Lyash, chair of the board of trustees for the of the Foundation and executive vice president of corporate development for Progress Energy Florida. “I would like to personally thank the volunteers who have been selected to serve on each caucus for their time commitment and offering their invaluable expertise towards this great cause.”

Caucus members are comprised of the state’s “best and brightest” with commitments aligned to one of the “Six Pillars of Florida’s Future Economy.” Houck will be working on the Business Climate & Competitiveness pillar.

Over the years, Houck’s involvement in economic development includes serving on the board of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Orlando Chamber, as well as serving as a trustee for the Greater Miami Chamber. While in Miami, he chaired the Business Expansion and Retention Committee, which oversaw Biotech, the Manufacturer’s Council, Film & Motion Pictures, Military Affairs, and the Business Visitation Teams. He has also served on the board of the World Trade Center – Orlando.
