Valencia’s Summer Dance Concert Set for July 15-16

Orlando, FL – Valencia College will hold its annual Valencia Dance Summer Repertory Concert on July 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Valencia’s East Campus.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will showcase the work of high-school students who participate in the Valencia Summer Dance Institute, as well as Valencia College dancers.

The Valencia Summer Dance Institute is a four-week program that provides low-cost instruction to high-school students from Central Florida. Participating students are given the opportunity to work with college and guest instructors.

Choreographers for the Valencia dance majors include: Jeanne Travers and John Parks, dance professors at the University of South Florida; Kevin Veiga, dance professor at Daytona State College; Eric Yow, artistic director of Yow Dance, an Orlando-based modern dance company; and Emily Cordell and Jessica Smith, Valencia dance alumnae.

Choreographers for Valencia Summer Dance Institute dancers include: Kiley Sandh, current Valencia dance major; Jade Scott McCartney, current Valencia dance major; Yvona Gonzalez and Payton Hinton, Valencia dance alumnae; and Lesley Brasseux Rodgers, artistic director of Valencia Dance Theatre.

Ticket prices are $12 for the general public and $10 for senior citizens and Valencia College students, faculty and staff.
