Virtual Campus Opens Up the World

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Imagine visiting the Louvre in Paris to study art as your alter ego floats through a virtual campus. This and much more is possible through Valencia’s virtual campus in “Second Life.” Students create an avatar, a representation of himself or herself, commonly used in video and computer games. In this case, the avatar is a virtual student inside a virtual college. Explore this imaginative new way to learn by watching the video by Nemir Matos-Cintron, Valencia Instruction Design Specialist, as part of her doctoral dissertation.
