A pair of free arts events arrives in tandem on Friday, November 5, on the East Campus of Valencia Community College.
The 2010 Selected Fine Arts Faculty Exhibition opens at the Anita S. Wooten Gallery—and runs through December 17. Artists Courtney Canova, Linda Ehmen, Michael Galletta, Kyle, Rima Jabbur, Michael Katz, Allan Maxwell, Jackie Otto-Miller and Camilo Velasquez will display their works. A reception with refreshments begins at 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Also Friday, in the adjacent Black Box Theater, Valencia’s House Band will perform a rock concert featuring the music of Alicia Keys, Radiohead, Pink, Queen, The Fugees, Whitney Houston and Dream Theater. Directed by Troy Gifford, the show starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be accompanied by visual effects courtesy of students in the college’s digital media program.
