Faculty Recital

Featuring a wide selection of music including jazz and contemporary ensembles.

 

Spring Choral Concert

Tuesday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m.

East Campus Performing Arts Center

The Valencia Singers perform arrangements by Kallman, Christiansen, and Courtney, and works by Thompson, Basler, Margutti and Childs, as well as Felix Mendelssohn’s famous sacred cantata “Hear My Prayer” with guest soprano Emily Grainger. Also featured are Gavin Hall, French Horn, and Khalid James, percussion. As a bonus, members of the Opera Theater Workshop Ensemble will present a preview of their spring program in Valencia’s Black Box Theater.

 

Guitar and Orchestra Concert

Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m.

East Campus Performing Arts Center

Guitarist and Valencia music professor Troy Gifford will present a recital of his solo guitar music, including the premiere of his new CD, “Olvidando,” while performing with the Valencia Orchestra under the direction of Jose Aenlle.

Spring Opera Workshop

Friday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m.

East Campus Black Box Theater

The first half of the show features selections from such great operettas as “Merry Widow,” “The Student Prince” and “The New Moon.” The second half features selections from the musicals “Bonnie and Clyde,” “Catch Me If You Can,” “Sister Act,” and more.
