New Courses and Course Fees to be Proposed to Board of Trustees

Orlando, FL – At Valencia College’s Board of Trustees meeting on May 24, the board will discuss the implementation of new courses for the 2017-2018 academic year. In accordance with new Florida Statute, section 1009.23, all Florida College System institutions must notify the public of any increases or additions to fees or tuition.

Valencia College Curriculum and Assessment plans to introduce six new courses with associated “special fees,” which will include lab, tutoring and user fees at rates consistent with existing course fees (see list below). It also proposes to add fees to six existing courses.

The courses and the corresponding special fees are as follows:

The new Florida statute stipulates that the public must be notified of proposed new fees and tuition hikes at least 28 days in advance of presentation to the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees’ meeting on May 24, 2017 will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Valencia’s Winter Park Campus, located at 850 W. Morse Blvd, Winter Park, FL 32789.
