Valencia College proudly celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with events on multiple campuses. On September 23, the Osceola Campus will hold a screening of the film, “A Day Without a Mexican,” from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in building 4, room 105. The UCF regional campus at Osceola is presenting this film.
On September 25, the West Campus will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the influence of Latino culture on the United States. The event will take place in the Health Sciences Building, room 105. On the same day, the college’s East Campus will host a Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration from 2-3 p.m. where students can learn about different countries, sample authentic cuisine and participate in Zumba.
On Oct. 15 at the Osceola Campus, The LIBRE Initiative and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando will host a panel discussion titled, “Impacting the Economic Development in the Hispanic Community.” Panelists will include Luis Fortuno, former governor of Puerto Rico; Diana Bolivar, president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando; Daniel Garza, executive director of the LIBRE Initiative; and Ricardo Pesquera of Crews & Pesquera, PA.
