Valencia College’s New Center for Accelerated Training to Hold Community Reception

Valencia College’s new Center for Accelerated Training will open its doors to members of the public and the college’s community partners at a special reception on April 2 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Members of the public are invited to stop by the new facility, which is located on Valencia’s Osceola Campus, to tour the learning spaces and learn more about the programs offered there.

The new center first opened its doors in January providing more permanent space for the college’s short-term language programs in Osceola County. In addition to intensive English and English for speakers of other languages, multiple accelerated skills training programs will be offered in the building this spring, including heavy equipment operator, apartment maintenance technician, clinical medical assistant, carpentry and transportation logistics.

“We’re excited for our community, partners and prospective students to experience firsthand the educational support services that we will be offering as we continue to work together improving the quality of life in Osceola County,” says Carolyn McMorran, assistant vice president of professional and continuing education for Valencia College.

“This beautiful new center will give Osceola County residents easy access to improving their English with our top-quality language programs, excellent instructors and welcoming multi-lingual staff,” says Lisa Eli, assistant vice president of global and continuing education for Valencia College.

Admission to this community reception is free. Families and children are welcome to attend. Valencia College employees fluent in Spanish will be present to assist with tours, program information and enrollment services. The Osceola Campus is located at 1800 Denn John Lane in Kissimmee.
