Valencia Spring Dance Concert Spotlights Classic and Contemporary Works

Valencia College will host its annual Spring Dance Concert in an online digital production, for a limited time. The concert, which opens on April 9 and closes April 10, highlights the work of guest choreographers and features student dancers as well as guest artists.

This spring the concert features “Solstice,” a modern piece created by returning guest choreographer Jon Lehrer, and “Dark Facets,” an original modern dance choreographed by international choreographer Alberto del Saz. The concert will close with excerpts from “Bachanale,” a modern work by Valencia College’s Artistic Director for Valencia Dance, Leslie Brasseux Rodgers.

After being impacted by the global pandemic last year, this year’s annual Spring Dance Concert is transitioning to an online venue. It will be pre-recorded and shared on Valencia’s website for a limited time.

Admission is free, but donations to the Valencia College Department of Dance will be accepted.

For ticket information, go to www.valenciacollege.edu/arts or call the box office at 407-582-2900.

Valencia’s East Campus is located at 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail in Orlando.
