Orlando, FL – Valencia College’s Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble will perform a free concert on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the college’s Performing Arts Center. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will run to 9:00 p.m.
Both the Symphonic Band and the Jazz Band will focus on American composers such as Morton Gould, Frank Ticheli, Robert Russell Bennett, Stan Kenton, Jimmy Van Heusen and “The March King” John Philip Sousa.
The evening will also pay homage to African-American History with music from Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess,” Dizzy Gillespie’s “A Night in Tunisia” and Jimmy Forrest’s “Night Train.”
Valencia College’s Performing Arts Center is located on Valencia’s East Campus, 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando.
