ORLANDO – Valencia College School of Arts and Entertainment will launch a Musical Theatre degree in Fall 2018. The Associate of Arts degree will combine resources from Valencia’s dance, music and theatre departments to prepare students for the demands of interdisciplinary performance.
Auditions will be held once a year for admittance into this limited access program. The inaugural auditions will take place at the Valencia College East Campus on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Both current students and prospective students who will be matriculating in the fall are invited to audition. Upon acceptance into the program, classes will begin with the start of the fall semester on Aug. 27, 2018.
The interdisciplinary degree will offer performance opportunities throughout the year, with two musicals, two opera theater workshops, and a student-choreographed dance concert. Productions are held in the East Campus’s 500-seat Performing Arts Center, as well as the more intimate Black Box Theater.
