The holiday season is drawing near and Valencia College is ready to spread holiday cheer through a wonderful selection of musical arrangements featuring groups from the music department.
Winter Choral Concert
On Nov. 21, the Valencia Singers will present the sacred and secular choral works by Forrest, Basler, Janowski, Schram and Osiek and holiday favorites by Rutter and others, with beloved carol arrangements by Hayes, Forrest, Simone and Gold. The Contemporary Ensemble will also perform, bringing the songs of renowned musical theater shows to life on stage with tunes from “9 to 5,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Come from Away,” “Memphis” and more.
The first performance will be at 7:30 p.m. on Valencia College’s East Campus Performing Arts Center. A repeat performance will be presented at Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church in Oviedo on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. Both concerts are free and open to the public.
Jazz Concert
The Valencia College Jazz Band will also be swinging audiences into the holidays with fresh arrangements of pop tunes and jazz classics at 7:30 p.m. on December 3 in the Performing Arts Center. Don’t be surprised if you hear a holiday chart topper dance its way into the program as well during the free concert performances.
Valencia College’s Performing Arts Center is located on the college’s East Campus at 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando. For more information, please call 407-582-2332.
