Valencia Theater Presents “Red Light: Why It Doesn’t Stop”

Valencia College presents their second digital production of the season, “Red Light: Why It Doesn’t Stop.” The ethnodrama, created by University of Central Florida and Valencia College students, explores human trafficking through the eyes of its victims and will run online for free Friday, Nov. 20 through Sunday Nov. 22.

Directed by Aixa Méndez, “Red Light” is a powerful marriage of spoken word and dance, scripted from interviews and research. Both poignant and harrowing, this performance conveys a global issue that is more prevalent in our society than most tend to be aware of. “Red Light” contains adult language and discusses adult situations that may not be appropriate for children or audience members who are sensitive to the topics portrayed.

While a free event, audience members and attendees must register for a particular performance. To view the play, visit the Valencia College Arts webpage. Then, under “Upcoming Events,” click on “RED LIGHT, Why it Doesn’t Stop” and select “I’m interested.” You will then be re-directed to the virtual box office. Although there is no cost for tickets, select “Buy Tickets” for the date and time you would like to attend (you may also simply click the “Buy Tickets” button on the site). Following, you will be emailed a ticket that includes a link to a webpage. On the date and time of the show, the video on the webpage will become live.

To reserve a ticket online or for more information, call the college box office at 407-582-2900.
