Students in Valencia College’s music department will play music from 1967 – in celebration of the year Valencia was founded – and hits from the 1980s at this year’s House Band Concert, which will be held on Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. on East Campus.
First, the Studio Band — which combines the talents of musicians, and sound and music technology students to record tracks — will play music from 1967 to honor Valencia’s 50th anniversary, which will be held in 2017. Concert-goers will hear classics such as Marvin Gaye’s “Heard it Through the Grapevine” and The Beatles’ “I Am the Walrus.”
The Valencia House Band will perform ‘80s hits, including Guns and Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”
The concert will be held in the Black Box Theater in Building 3.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The East Campus is located at 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail in Orlando. For more information and tickets, please visit http://valenciacollege.edu/arts/ or call the box office at 407-582-2900.
