Orlando, FL – Valencia College will hold its annual Spring Dance Concert Mar. 14-15 at 8 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center on Valencia College’s East Campus, located at 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando.
This year, the concert features original works from Derrick Minter, a former member of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Dancers will also perform “The Winged” by modern dance legend José Limón. Inspired by bird imagery, bird metaphors and even bird mythology, “The Winged” won rave reviews from the dance world when it premiered in 1966.
In addition, dancers will also perform “Rhapsodie en Bleu,” an original piece by Lesley Brasseux Rogers, artistic director of Valencia Dance Theatre.
Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for Valencia faculty, staff and senior citizens, $6 for children under 12. Admission is free for Valencia students with a valid college ID. Students should call the box office or stop by the box office to pick up their free tickets.
