Orlando – This season, Valencia College hosts three master guitar acts in a series of free concerts held the week of Feb. 26.
All concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. on scheduled evenings, and will be held in the Performing Arts Center at Valencia’s East Campus, located at 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail.
The Master Guitarist Series begins on Mon., Feb. 26 with Muriel Anderson, a prominent finger-style guitarist inspired by multiple genre, including classical, folk, jazz, bluegrass and international. She has performed/recorded with Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Victor Wooten and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra.
On Wednesday, Feb. 28, classical guitarist Hilary Field takes the stage for a latin-influenced set demonstrating her virtuosic ability as a composer, arranger, soloist and chamber musician, talents that have led her to perform and record internationally.
Bluegrass/folk duo Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer round out the week on Friday, March 2. Two-time Grammy Award winners Finx and Marxer will blend soothing harmonies with a guitar, ukulele, mandolin, banjo and cello for a healthy dose of Americana.
