Valencia Holds Bilingual Scholarship Workshop Series Open to the Public

Orlando – Beginning Jan. 23, Valencia College will host a series of college scholarship workshops at public schools and several of its campuses across Orange and Osceola counties. The workshops will provide prospective college students with one-on-one help completing college applications, scholarship essays and financial aid documents.

High school seniors, returning adult students and their families are welcome to attend the events which are open to the community. Information session will be provided in both English and Spanish and the $35 Valencia College application fee will be waived.

During each session, students will receive assistance applying to scholarships offered through local and national organizations, including Education Foundation of Osceola County ScholarshipsValencia Foundation Scholarships and TheDream.US Scholarships ($25,000 scholarships for undocumented students with, or eligible for, DACA or TPS status).

Refreshments will be provided, and attendees will leave with a scholarship toolkit and T-shirt. This scholarship workshop series is a continuation of Valencia’s Got College? initiative, which received a “Best Practices” award from the Florida College System in Nov. 2017.
