On Saturday, a total of 2,850 graduates will receive their associate degrees as Valencia Community College celebrates its 42nd spring commencement at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee.
This year’s commencement address will be given by 27-year-old Steven Crist, who was named the 2010-2011 Distinguished Graduate by the Valencia Alumni Association.
Commencement exercises will take place at 10 a.m. at Silver Spurs Arena, Osceola Heritage Park, on U.S. Hwy. 192 in Kissimmee.
This will be the college’s final commencement as Valencia Community College before it changes its name to Valencia College in July. To honor the occasion and the graduates, a special surprise will be parked just outside the arena.
