Valencia College and Workforce Central Florida are partnering to retrain veterans and unemployed workers for high-tech manufacturing jobs, thanks to a four-year grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
The program is part of a $15 million grant designed to train workers for high-demand jobs that are hard to fill. The Florida TRADE (Transforming Resources for Accelerated Degrees and Employment) grant will provide six months of training at Valencia for 200 local unemployed people and veterans. Each participant will receive $4,200 for classes, books and certification.
