Valencia College Students named to the 2020 All-Florida Academic Team

Seven Valencia College students have been named as top scholars and are joining just 166 students statewide to be part of the All-Florida Academic Team. The team is comprised of high-achieving college students from the 28 state and community colleges in the Florida College System.

The students representing Valencia College are: Melva Camacho (Kissimmee), Joanel Colon (Puerto Rico), Jason McCormick (Fort Myers), Rachel Phillips, Sheina Senat (Orlando), Arsene Landry Tatke (Cayman Islands) and Jennifer Tolliver (Kissimmee).

The All-Florida Academic Team recognizes outstanding students for academic achievement, leadership and service to the community. To honor these students’ achievements, the Florida College System will host the 2020 All-Florida Academic Team Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 6, 2020, in conjunction with the Phi Theta Kappa Florida Regional Convention in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students attending community and two-year collegesand helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. Membership is based on high grade point averages and other criteria, with members focusing on scholastic achievement and service to community and campus. The Society is made up of more than 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 10 nations.
