Valencia East Campus Hosts Food Trucks, Outdoor Entertainment

Singer/songwriter Austin Renfroe, local rock band Transmit Now and comedian/magician Michael Kent will perform in concert as part of the “We Love the 90s” Welcome Week Variety Show at Valencia College’s East Campus on Friday, Sept. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The family-friendly, outdoor event will also feature a variety of local food truck vendors, including Crepe Company, El Cubanito, London Fish and Chippy, Fat Daddy’s BBQ, Posh Nosh and Yum Yum Cupcake Truck.

Each fall, Valencia holds “welcome back” events on its campuses for new and returning students. This is the first event of its kind the campus has hosted for evening and Weekend College students, as well as the community.

Sponsored by the office of Student Development and the East Campus Student Government Association, the event is free and open to the public, but organizers are requesting people bring two (2) canned or nonperishable food items to benefit the campus food pantry.

The event coincides with a visit by renowned artist and social activist Luba Lukova, whose work is on display in Valencia’s Anita Wooten Gallery. On Friday, Sept. 6, Lukova will speak at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.

Valencia’s East Campus is located at 701 N. Econlockhatchee Trail in Orlando.
