Welcome Back! Fall Semester Begins at Valencia College’s Five Campuses

Students are back on campus as the fall semester kicked off on Monday, Aug. 26.

At each of Valencia’s five campuses, students are being welcomed with a variety of welcome week events. At Valencia’s Winter Park campus, new and returning students were invited to a breakfast on the first day of classes, while at Lake Nona campus, the students attended a welcome-back resource fair, where they learned about the different services available on campus — including math and writing labs, the library and other support services.

On Wednesday at the Lake Nona campus, officials will show students what career or volunteer opportunities are available near campus and, on Thursday, the Lake Nona campus will hold a general welcome back event with free food, games, prizes and a chance for students to have their portraits made by a professional caricaturist. On Thursday, the Winter Park Campus student government association will hold a welcome back event and give away free frozen cappucinos to students, while encouraging students to get involved in activities.

Welcome Back events continue through next week, when East, West and Osceola campuses will hold events and celebrations. For more information on the events, go to Valencia College’s online events calendar.
